Imagine Dragons + Kendrick Lamar = Better Grammys

Imagine Dragons + Kendrick Lamar = Better Grammys

Last week, USA Today wrote an article that let everyone know Imagine Dragons will be performing with Kendrick Lamar at the Grammy Awards this year. That’s big news for Kendrick, who’s really been on fire since he released Good Kid Maad City. While he’s not released an album after that, everyone knows that it’s in the works and will be coming soon.

Still, the fact that he will be playing with Imagine Dragons at the Grammys is a sign that 2014 is going to be just as bright for him as 2013 was when it comes to music.  The 56th Annual Grammy Awards are going to be a great gig for KDot as he continues to prove to the world that he’s the King of the West Coast as well as the King of New York. When it comes to the rap game, he’s got it locked up.

Imagine Dragons guitarist Wayne Sermon told USA Today:

“(He) approached us at the American Music Awards about playing together. It was an easy thing to say yes to. It’s a chance to do something different and out of the box for us, too. We won’t be too disappointed if we don’t win a Grammy, just as long as our performance goes well. It’s the only thing we’ve got control over, so we’re focusing mostly on that.”

This isn’t the first time two different bands have played together at the Grammys, but it goes to show that Kendrick Lamar is always thinking about ways to get his name out there in the public in a positive way. Playing at the Grammys is good on its own, but when you can create a little buzz by working with another hit band, it’s even better in many ways.

We’d like to know what you think about Kendrick playing with Imagine Dragons. Leave a comment and let us know if you think this will help Kendrick’s career or not. We really think it’s going to be positive. While it’s not going to make or break his career, it’s a positive move in the right direction. Agree? Disagree? Let us know!
